Shiraz
Wine
Balnaves of Coonawarra Shiraz is drawn from the low yielding 1970s planted estate Paulownia Vineyard at the southern end of the Coonawarra terra rossa strip.
The fruit is open fermented with a portion of whole bunches. In some vintages a small amount of Viognier is added for lift. The wine matures for 18 months in French oak before bottling.
Deep red, Balnaves of Coonawarra Shiraz has dark berry flavours, spicy notes and a soft, grainy tannin finish. Cellaring potential is seven years.
